Bollywood is the colour of this year's Qutub festival which will begin November 4 at Qutub complex in Mehrauli. Presented by Department of Art, Culture and Languages, Government of Delhi, the four day schedule boasts performances by the likes of Sunidhi Chauhan, Sukhwinder, K.K., Shreya Ghoshal and Sonu Nigam. The Qutub Festival is held each year usually in November–December in the Qutub complex in the capital. The super-talented Sonu Nigam returns to Dubai for a four-hour non-stop musical, along with his 30-member troupe, specially choreographed with Bollywood dancers and top musicians.
What promises to be an unforgettable Eid Al Adha special performance, organisers Oberoi Middle East are expecting a full house at the Madinat Arena, Madinat Jumeriah on November 7.

Sonu Nigam Composes Music For The Movie 'Jal'

Sonu Nigam loves donning many hats. The playback singer, who has also dabbled in acting besides judging a popular reality music series, is now debuting as a composer for a Bollywood film.
The singer has collaborated with tabla player/percussionist Bickram Ghosh and the duo has composed all tracks of the film, Jal, direct by Girish Malik.
“Composing music with Bickram for this exciting project was a great experience,” says Sonu, adding that the transition to directing music was effortless for him.
“Composing comes naturally to me because apart from being a singer, I’m also a musician. I understand the technical intricacies involved in the arrangement and production of tracks,” says the singer, who has, in the past, composed for a few of his independent pop albums too.
For his debut film, Sonu has also penned lyrics for the title track, ‘Jal de jal de…’ which features singer Shubha Mudgal.
Jal stars actors Purab Kohli, Mukul Dev and Tannishtha Chatterjee.
The film’s story revolves around the water crisis that erupts in the Kutch region due to the drying up of river Narmada.
Recently, the singer also composed an anthem, ‘Haseen zindagi…’ written by Javed Akhtar, for a breast cancer awareness campaign called B Aware! “This composition is an effort aimed at creating awareness for the cause. I believe that it’s important to give back to society in any manner you can,” reveals Sonu.
Aimed at the youth, the upbeat song has been voiced by six young talents from the industry from Shefali Alvares and Shruti Pathak to Akriti Kakkar, Teesha Nigam, Neha Bhasin and Shilpa Rao.

Several film personalities came down to Chandanwadi crematorium in Marine Lines, South Mumbai, at noon on Tuesday to say their last goodbyes to ghazal singer Jagjit Singh, who passed away early Monday morning. Sonu Nigam appeared visibly upset as he spoke of the late singer. 'We know ghazals only because of one man -- Jagjit Singh. It's such sad news that he is not present among us today. The loss is irreparable. He was such a lively person. I am shocked. I don't know how he succumbed to his illness. A few days ago, there was news that the hospital had removed the ventilators and his health was improving. His contribution not only to music but the world of entertainment is priceless. He was not only a ghazal singer but he also sang spiritual songs, bhajans and gurbanis. He also sang romantic Hindi film songs. 'He is the only person who has never seen a downfall in his career. Every actor and singer must face downfall but Jagjit Singh just kept rising. He was so active; he sang till the age of 70. I had met him recently during the voting of the GIMA awards. I'd pulled his cheeks and had so much fun. I didn't know we would be meeting for the last time. He was planning to go for a tour to America next year,' Sonu added.

Sonu Nigam's Visit To Chhatrapur Temple

Sonu Nigam on the occasion of Navratri celebrations, went to Chhatrapur Temple to perform on devotional songs for a newly launched bhajan album. On this trip he encountered an unforgettable incident, knowing Sonu's popularity amongst his fans, within no time, a massive crowd gathered together to see their desi idol live. Despite well organized security arrangements the mob had gotten out of hand, the crowds were terrifying and uncontrollable Sonu had a tough time escaping from there with his family and friends. His path was blocked, people were crying in excitement, they were pushing each other violently to get a glimpse of him, On this Sonu said "All I can say is it’s a Classic case of Love becoming Terror."

Ninnindha Yeegantha….Are nanna kathe ninna kathe heege agidhe….using the spoken words a fun filled song sung by Sonu Nigam and Shreya Goshal is interesting. This is a love song too. Barigalli Naa bandhe Ninna Jotheyagi….Dariyalli Deepadanthe…..are the words that explain the immense amount of love. Jayanth Kaikini is the lyricist of this song.

The second song is Rama Rama Nanna Dillu….Yake aduthe,,,,prema prema antha nanna nungutho….is again a love song and expression of love sung by Khailash Kher and Chinmayi. This song is also with western mix and English words a modern song. Dr Nagendra Prasad has penned this song.

Ondhe Samane Beradhidhe Yee Manasu Ninagaagi…..Bandhe baruve Hrudayava Kadirisu….is a melodious best sung by Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghoshal is also in high pitch and very good modulation in the voice. This is penned by Jayanth Kaikini who writes special lines for the beautiful voice of Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghoshal. A song when the lovers are separated is the situation it seems on the screen.

Life Alli Gelloke Nilloke….aadu Aata….is a title song – Love ondhu Idhre saku Gellokke…. a mixture of western beats plus western style of song sung by Tippu. Tushar Ranganath has penned this song.

Idhu Lovva….Nadu Road alli…..Hale Hadella Mathe Gungu Hage Aithalla….is a group song and suits the evolution of love time. Kaviraj has lent the lyrics for this song.

Ondhe Samane……the most melodious of the album is sung individually by Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghoshal.

Another song of the album is the He Yavva Yavva…..is sung by Kunal Ganjawala and Shreya Ghoshal. The exchange of love and loss of love what happens is explained in this song.

Ashwini Media Network has released the album to the market. Sumanth and Vibha Natarajan are in the lead roles of this film directed by Vijayakumar.
